APPELLATE PRACTICE

Anchors Smith Grimsley attorneys are experienced in appellate proceedings in state and federal courts, and thus have the ability to handle a matter from inception through the conclusion of appellate review, or to enter a case for the first time at the appellate stage as co-counsel or sole counsel for the appeal.  Our appellate experience includes appeals of local governmental decisions, such as zoning matters, to circuit court; administrative appeals and circuit court appeals to the District Court of Appeal; appeals and discretionary review in the Florida Supreme Court; and petitions for certiorari review in the United States Supreme Court; as well as federal-case appeals to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Our partner Susan L. Kelsey, resident in the Tallahassee office, has nearly 18 years’ experience in appellate practice, and is geographically convenient to the appellate courts most relevant to our clients’ needs.
