Michael R. Goodson

Michael Goodson is a lifelong Florida resident. Mike grew up in Orlando before enrolling at the University of Florida in Gainesville. In 2009, Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) and a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance. Mike continued to study music, obtaining his Master of Music in Instrumental Performance from UF before enrolling in the Frederic G. Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 2011. 

As a law student, Mike was the President of the Family Law Society and received Book Awards in Trial Practice as well as Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiations. In addition to earning his Juris Doctor with honors in 2014, Mike obtained certificates in Family Law as well as Criminal Law. In 2020, while working full time in private practice, Mike continued his education and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Warrington College of Business at UF.

After graduating law school in 2014, Mike moved to Panama City and began his career as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office. Mike prosecuted a variety of criminal cases before he entered private practice, where he now focuses exclusively on marital and family law.

Mike handles a variety of marital and family law matters, from contested and uncontested divorces, high net worth divorces, paternity cases, child custody and child support matters, and domestic violence injunctions. In addition to being a licensed attorney, Mike is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator and is a Board Certified Specialist in Marital and Family Law.

Mike is active in the legal community as Director at Large for the Okaloosa County Bar Association. Mike is also a member of the Florida Bar’s Family Law Section and is a member of several of the Family Law Section’s committees. In his free time, Mike is a member of the Krewe of Bowlegs, and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
